Ginger Chen is a Ph.D. candidate at the Florida Institute of Technology whose research sits at the nexus of human lived experience and data science. She specializes in qualitative methods like Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) and grounded theory, enhanced by big data analysis and human-AI collaboration. Her current dissertation research is a groundbreaking study that applies the principles of Chinese philosophy—Heavenly Hour, Terrain Triumph, and Human Harmony—to the study of Western cognitive mapping science. By examining the lifelong learning journeys of astronauts, she provides new insights into the complex decision-making processes that define success.
