My research includes the study of Palythoa caribaeorum, a species of zoanthid that are becoming more prominent along the Florida Keys Reef Tract. Palythoa is a fast growing species, capable of outcompeting other corals, as well as enduring warmer temperatures than most. My research aims to identify what their species distribution may look like over time throughout the FKRT if temperatures continue to increase.
