Marlene Lappeus, has 22 years of experience managing large
multidisciplinary research programs with federal agencies, including NASA
(STRI), DoD (Army RCCTO), DoE (EERE, NETL, ARPA-e, NREL), and
NSF. Marlene is knowledgeable with all aspects of research project
management from the proposal phase through program completion; fund
administration including budget development and modifications, financial
planning and projections, institutional research compliance, contracts and
grants, approval and monitoring of expenditures; reporting requirements
and submissions.
Prior to her role as program manager for the TRANSCEND NASA ULI, she
was a Sr. Contracting Specialist for the Office of Sponsored Research at
Florida Tech. She also spent 19 years at Michigan Technological
University, and served as Director of Business Operations, for a large
multidisciplinary research center managing approximately $10M in new
awards annually.
She holds a BS in engineering from Michigan Tech, which provides a level
analytical aptitude for working on technical programs.
