L3Harris Institute for Assured Information is pleased to be hosting a guest lecture by Glenn Lilly.
Abstract:
Dr. Lilly has a 30+ year career at the National Security Agency (NSA) in cybersecurity and in research where he is currently at the intersection of both in NSA's lab for cybersecurity research, a multi-disciplinary team of several dozen researchers focused on technologies that can improve the cybersecurity posture of our customers. He will discuss, in general, NSA's research directorate and will focus on his current office. He will also discuss employment opportunities in STEM fields at NSA.
Bio:
Dr. Lilly received his BA in philosophy and mathematics from West Virginia University in 1985. He received his PhD in mathematics (special functions and combinatorics) from the University of Kentucky in 1991. He joined NSA in 1991, where he has held a variety of positions in design and evaluation. Currently, he is a senior researcher in the Lab for Cybersecurity Research, which is within NSA's research directorate. A primary focus of his is workforce technical health; he is a senior advocate for IC PRIDE, the Intelligence Community-wide LGBTQ+ affinity network group. From 2011 to 2015, he was chief of the Mathematics Research Group. He has one patent, US Patent Serial 09/799,432, "Device For and Method of One-Way Cryptographic Hashing" for the SHA-2 family of hashing algorithms.
