Emily Soucy joined the lab in 2021 as a freshman pursuing a dual major B.S. in Biochemistry and Astrobiology. She began by working on the Kin Recognition project studying the effects of neighboring Arabidopsis on their growth. Later, she began work on the chemistry-based Fiber Digestion project and began her own project using Carnivorous Plants to biomine lunar and Martian regolith simulants.
