Real-Time Notes from EMU MTCC alignment meeting 8/17/06: --------------------------------------------------------- Participants: Oleg, Dave, Samir, Jeff, Xiaofeng, Teresa, Duncan, Jim, Vladimir, Marcus New meeting data and time: Thu 11pm CT, 12noon ET, 6pm CERN Oleg: end MTCC end of August, Photogrammetry once open ? Oleg to CERN 9/10 for 2 weeks. Dave to CERN during CMS week 9/17, weekend after Vladimir gets there. To hit ripped off transfer DCOPS with own Z-tube, disks must have misaligned by at least 4cm Disk crew installing a Bcam system to ensure the position in x,y when docking. We should insist on this. Small nose to make sure that clearance for other element. Now plan to go to 2in faces (Z-tube is 2.25in diameter). Total broken Z-sensors known by now: 6 ME3, plus expect 6 more on. FNAL will procure 25-50 new Z-sensors to replace broken sensors and keep spares. After building, they will be sent to Fl. Tech for calibration. PSL and FNAL will meet next Thurday to coordinate repairs and drawings. VRVS ? Teresa's report on Magnet: 3.6T today testing fast dump, Tuesday plan to go to 4T, another ramp to 4T after that. Aug 28 open ME+ (not ME-) to remove tracker, insert B-field mapper for one month Duncan: Need coordinated DCOPS data taking and magnet ramping, takes about an hour for all sensors, Jeff: data taken at 3T on past Friday, but problems with DAQ, so not sure if usable, today's 3.5T seems DCOPS data taken by Jeff ok Teresa: Will make an official request for ramping to flat tops 1T, 2T, 3T, 4T and staying there for 1hr to take data with all DCOPS Oleg: Magnet current data has problems, used GMT time, extra zero's etc. Marcus, Dave, Jim, Jeff: We should try to take data in the automated mode that calculates means and RMS onboard and compare this with the results we get from full beam profiles Samir's analysis report: - Z-sensors indicate motion by 0.2-0.25 cm. Point 2,5 behave linearly, Pt.6 is different, maybe reflective surface bad at that point? - One R-sensor indicated motion by .002 cm = 20 microns between chambers - Oleg: Seems like Endcap disk is not paralle to barrel - for photogrammetry put target on ME+3 next week Dave, Teresa: At Kawasaki they achieved photogrammetry precision of 200 microns. Survey data taken at Xiaofeng working on database issues now. Jim: can read all MAB DCOPS now Samir: No more progress on problem of Terminal server hanging sometimes, has occured twice so far Rackmount PC in green barrack now, should be brought up in parallel with existing PC. But we shoud ensure that we have a working system so we get the 4T ramp data before making this the default data-taking PC.
