All Small Businesses want Big Business tools.

The Center can help your organization, whether it is planning for exponential growth, increased business efficiency or both. The Center is an HR and organizational consulting group affiliated with Florida Tech to provide needed business consulting services to organizations. The Center is run by Ph.D. level industrial/organizational (I/O) psychologists and staffed by advanced graduate students at Florida Tech. By applying principles of management and human behavior, I/O psychologists, also known as management consultants, can solve corporate problems and create a positive, more effective work environment.

The Center works directly with small business owners to create cost effective solutions for growing companies. We recognize the unique situation of small business owners for whom employee-related programs and legal compliance may not be top of mind. However, developing this type of infrastructure is crucial to growing your business successfully.

We recognize that many small businesses are experiencing "growing pains." The Center can help by developing systems, procedures and forms that will facilitate effective human resources related processes. Our human resource processes improve performance and business efficiency and are designed, developed and implemented meeting all equal employment law regulations enforced by the EEOC.

Specifically targeted for small businesses, The Center can help in:

  • Recruiting and selecting qualified applicants
  • Designing and validating hiring tests and interviews
  • Developing and delivering selection technique training (including structured interview use and employee screening)
  • Developing employee orientation programs and employee handbooks
  • Conducting job analyses and writing job descriptions
  • Developing performance appraisal forms and feedback processes
  • Developing and delivering training programs (soft skills such as: leadership, communication skills, project management, time management; hard skills such as: customer and technology integration, customized industry or company specific skills)
  • Reducing conflict within teams and improving team work through team building
  • Assessing employee and customer attitudes, satisfaction and commitment
  • Exit interviewing
  • Meeting employment law regulations
