ENSO variability, marine microbiology
Starting my work as an undergrad in the Paleoecology lab in Fall 2007, I focused on tracking ENSO variability in the mid-Holocene using
pollen analysis of lake sediments from Bainbridge and San Cristobal Islands, Galápagos. When I graduated Florida Institute of
Technology in the Spring of 2009 with a Bachelors in Marine Biology, I found I could not part with this type of research and became a
Master’s student! My research will expand on my undergraduate work, still using pollen analysis from the Galápagos, and including data
from upper and lower Andean lakes in Ecuador to find out more about the exciting Holocene period.
