Reel Cognition ... Hollywood really likes cognition !

All kinds of bizarre forms of amnesia have made it  to the big screen ...

The funny thing is that those clever scriptwriters and famous directors never seem to get it right !?!?

With the help of my smart students here is the first batch of cogntively incorrect (coggle-cobble) movies, aka cognitive Turkeys !

The Golden Coggle-CobbleTurkey Medal goes to "Paycheck" (2003)

with Ben Affleck and Uma Thurman

directed by John Woo, short story by Philip K. Dick, screenplay by Dean Geogaris

Why ?

The movie uses the hilarious and out of date clichee that human memory is like a video tape.

It gets even better, then we are led to believe that each memory is stored inside as one neuron, which (no kidding) must be blasted into oblivion in order to erase that memory.

Funny, I don't even remember where I saw my umbrella last ...
