About Us
Florida Tech's Marine Operations Center is a 3 1/2 acre site located at 1216 East River Drive in Melbourne, Florida. Its position at the confluence of Crane Creek and the Indian River Lagoon, provides easy access to the surrounding waterways for a variety of estuarine activities. Undergraduate and graduate level research is conducted both at static, onsite locations and at locations throughout the Indian River Lagoon complex. Access is afforded via a small boat fleet comprised of pontoons, skiffs and personal watercraft. The Florida Tech Science Diving program provides for student qualification and inclusion into the university's science diver training and education program, as well as, PADI certification through the Divemaster level.
