Steelman
Lisa Steelman, Director

Lisa A. Steelman, Ph.D., is the Director of the Center for Organizational Effectiveness and an Associate Professor in the I/O Psychology program at Florida Tech. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in I/O psychology from University of Akron. Dr. Steelman has more than 10 years of experience in the field of industrial/organizational psychology with particular interest in organizational and human capital metrics. She frequently consults in the areas of performance management, 360-degree feedback and feedback processes, and employee survey programs. Dr. Steelman’s clients range from Fortune 100 companies to not-for profit organizations across a broad range of industries including: financial services, manufacturing, electronics, and law enforcement agencies. She has designed and implemented both large and small-scale employee survey projects including initiatives in employee attitudes, linkage research, upward feedback, organizational culture, 360-degree feedback, exit interviews, customer satisfaction/loyalty, and training needs analysis. Lisa has also helped organizations develop and implement performance management and feedback programs. She also conducts training programs and workshops in a variety of areas including: leadership, coaching, performance management and teambuilding.

Steelman
Richard Griffith, Ph.D.

Richard Griffith, Ph.D., received his degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from The University of Akron in 1997. He is currently the program Chair of the I/O Psychology program at Florida Tech. He has designed and provided training in the area of developmental feedback, employee retention, and team building for Fortune 500 companies. He has extensive experience in conducting needs analysis, developing training curriculum, and delivering training in non-profit and private organizations. Dr. Griffith has also designed and conducted team-building and leadership programs in the military, public, and private sectors. In addition, he has developed selection systems for Florida Law Enforcement, and served as a training and retention advisor to the Florida Police Chiefs Association. Richard is well versed in the areas of testing and assessment of individual differences, and conducts much of his research in the faking of personality measures. He is the editor of A Closer Examination of Applicant Faking Behavior published in 2006.

Steelman
Arthur Gutman, Ph.D.

Arthur Gutman, Ph.D. is Professor of Psychology and past chair of the I/O Psychology program at Florida Tech. Art has consulted with public and private employers including the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, the Florida Supreme Court, the Department of Defense’s Equal Opportunity Management Institute, the Brevard County Police Testing Center, Intersil Corporation, and Holmes Regional Medical Center. His main teaching interests include EEO Law, personnel selection, statistics, and program evaluation. He has created and validated tests for manufacturing jobs and redesigned selection procedures for police forces. He has served as an expert witness on EEO claims, but his favorite sport is to train employers and employees to detect and prevent illegal workplace discriminatory behaviors. Currently, he is on the Board of Editors of TIP and writes a quarterly column, On the Legal Front. He is author of EEO Law and Personnel Practices, Second Edition, published by Sage in 2000.

Patrick Converse, Ph.D.

Patrick Converse, Ph.D. has worked with a wide range of organizations including government agencies, national and international companies, smaller regional organizations, as well as local and international consulting companies. His recent consulting activities have focused on a number of areas including workforce diversity (city of Columbus Ohio), employee satisfaction and motivation (Yum! Brands, Inc.), training evaluation (Jackson National Life), survey administration (Millennium Research Group), vocational guidance (Ball Foundation), and job applicant screening and selection (Caliper Corporation). Pat received his Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University.
